    is it illegal to shoot with a shotgun at night ?? someone was telling me this just wondering is it true thanks

    No it not. Run into problems when noise pollution is brought up but if your far enough from road and houses there should be no problem

    Keep away from houses thats all. You don't want to get acused of careless discharge of a firearm disturbing the peace as TriggerPL said.
    A shot gun isn't near as loud as any decent unmoderated fox caliber

    Shooting rabbits and foxes under a lamp no bother.. I think people shoot duck under moon light too.

    Lamping woodcock with a shotgun would be illegal.

    Correct - shooting any protected species, or species that have a designated hunting season, besides duck & geese, is illegal at night.

    Very straightforward rule of thumb is that game can't be shot outside daylight hours, it applies to rifles as well as shotguns. The likes of foxes and rabbits can be hunted at night and normal do's and don'ts in relation to the use of firearms apply.

    your right but the report of a shotgun will be more noticeable than a rifle shot due to it being far less high pitched and more of a boom rather than a crack. all you can do in both cases is just stay well away from houses
