    Just a quick question. Are cash gifts between family members, say 800k between father and son, subject to CGT? Or any other tax for that matter?

    Not sure if giving an answer to this will be specific advice (don't want to get a ban) so i will keep it very simple for you.

    1) CGT - no as it is cash
    2) Capital Acquisitions Tax - yes

    If a mod allows it, I will expand for you :)
