    Hey,
I was looking in going into the clipless route when my new road bike comes but I'm not going to have enough to go splashing €80 on shoes and pedals on top of all the accessories I have to get (helmet, locks etc). So i found these on sports direct and wondered if they would be ok? Now I know they aren't going to be some secret Shimano's in disguise (or maybe they are and if so great :d) but would they do the job ok?

    Thanks

I got a pair of the black and white rbs200s to try out when I did the mizen to malin last April. I didn't want to spend a lot as I usually just use cages for the short jaunt into work and don't bother changing my pedals if I'm going for a spin on the weekend. They are good value for £20 but they do have a downside. With these shoes you want them to be very tight around your foot in the area of the cleat. Because of the large areas of mesh ventilation you cannot get them to be very snug in that area so there is a bit of play with every rotation. However I see that there is one of the rbs200 that looks like it has 2smaller ventilation panels instead of one big one which would probably mean you could tighten them up better around the cleat.

I see what your saying about the mesh ventilation.Just looked closer and saw that the RBS100 is the only one in my size. Seems to be less mesh ventilation than the rbs300 so it sounds like it could be a better option anyway.
    Thanks for the feedback
