    Hi,

Anyone know how to copy data from UPC box onto PC/USB stick?

if its just a normal harddrive inside, then i could possibly get it off that by opening it, but is there an easier way?

Cant be done, the programs are copied to the hard drive with encryption. Basically it just records the raw signal that comes down the pipe, which means that you need a box to unscramble it

If you can hook up a recording device (recordable DVD, laptop etc) then you can record "live" as we did back in the day with videos, but thats the only real way to get content off of a UPC box (or Sky box for that matter).

You can copy from the upc box by playing the recordings back to a dvd recorder. Then rip the tracks to your pc or use a programme like Vob2mpg.
