I need to buy a new road bike for less than 500 euro. My last bike was stolen (Peugeot UO). I play football, and I like to cycle a lot to keep fit. id do about 15-20km every second day. second hands are welcome.

I know someone who is selling a vitus 979 for 300euro. Would this bike suit me. I heard bad stories about vitus bonded frames failing.

This is impossible for anyone here to answer in fairness without knowing you. Try the bike a few times and see how it feels.

+1 on what Lusk said, you'll never know if a bike suits you until you get on it.

You could buy a brand new Carrera from Halfords, if you stretch your budget you could get a Boardman from the same. Although you'll always get more for your money in the second-hand market.

Just know your basic measurements- what frame size fits you, crank-size length etc.. and you cant go too far wrong.

    Happy Cycling!

Triban 3 from decathlon in Belfast for 300 sterling if the vitus doesn't fit great bike and reviews for the money.
