    Hi All

    Thanks
    Maureen

nice looking machine ... fairly pricey at just under £stg4k! The webpage mentions 20% if the title.

    Thanks Donnacha
Contacted Small Batch, 20% discount was an introductory offer at the beginning of the year now Stg3990 + VAT and they do not ship to Ireland. Waiting to hear back from CoffeeHit, was referred to them by La Marzocco UK.

    Cheers

    Will do Donnacha.
It is a very clear indication of my addiction when I have decided to sell my Alex Duetto and Mazzer Mini-e because I cannot wait for my shipment to arrive. Will be shipping my Coffee-Tech 2kg roaster but will have to buy roasted until it arrives. Will then have to source greens when my stash runs out, and it will not be from Has Bean as the cost of shipping to Ireland is prohibitive for anything over 10kg.

As you'll see from the threads here we have seen a good few new roasters appear on the island of ireland so hopefully you should now have a few more options to assist in getting your hands on green. Then again depending on where you are going to be based in Ireland you could still end up spending on a fortune on local shipping costs.

If there is a parcelmotel near you then you can use hasbean to ship to their Antrim location e.g: a 10kg order costs £stg8 + you'd then have to factor in€3.50 for parcelmotel to then ship to your local motel location.
Once you go over 10kg then you run into additional charges for parcelmotel but I still think the maximum Hasbean charge for Fedex to Antrim is £stg15.

Thanks Donnacha, will check out the parcelmotel.
Will be living in Carlingford, Co Louth, so midway between Dublin and Belfast.
Will keep you posted on progress.

Is that an Alex 1 or 2?
    Found a buyer yet?

Alex 2. Haven't posted it for sale yet. Whatever I get for Alex and a Mazzer Mini-e here in Australia, will be used toward purchase of new machine and grinder in Ireland.

wow and I thought I was mad spending 1000 euro on a roaster... that's a wonderful roaster, no wonder you have decided to keep it.

Interesting you have spent twice the amount on the roaster than on the machine and the grinder! Never thought of that! ;) Most people will spend most of their money on the cofffee machine, then the grinder and then the roaster

The rrp for the Coffee-Tech Torrefattore here in Aus is $12,000; Alex Duetto II (when I purchased) rrp $4000 and Mazzer Mini-e circa $1100. It is a lot more expensive to buy equipment here BUT greens are easy to get, great range and reasonably priced.

Yeah. I know... I think is worth it.

I found find it hard to find a place selling home roasters here in Ireland. In fact, the only home roasters (yours is not a home roaster of course ;)) 0you will be able to find are the iroast, gene cafe and the behmor (apart from professional roasters). Anything else will require a bit more digging.

I bought my hottop straight from the manufacturer (through Alibaba.com).

I also own a mazzer mini e and paid around 600 euro por it (maybe a bit more) so yeah, that's like 30% more than you! The duetto 2 sells for around 1800 euro, still, much more expensive than in Australia, I was gonna go for it but decided to go for the Expobar instead (dont really mind if it doesnt ahve a rotatory pump)

If you get the gs3 you have to post your experience with it... it is a dream machine, who knows, maybe one day but at the moment I dont have the need for a better machine, I am quite happy with what I have.

I buy my green beans from Cafe Mojo and also from sweetmarias (use to get them from hasbean but delivery charges are mad now). As I buy green beans I dont mind longer delivery times (sweetmarias takes around 1 -2 weeks), cafe mojo are much quicker though and quality so far has been excellent. I will be using them both. I only roast in batches of 250 gr (~200 gr after roasting) so I only roast 1-2 times per week.
