    Hi,

I have a short question I'd like to pick your brains about if that's OK :) Will explain via PM.

    Thanks.

    +1

Now we all think you're up to something shady, like can I put such an engine in my car or what way do I wash diesel to cause the least amount of damage :p

It's a sensitive matter, a technical question about my own car which I purchased recently. It's nothing shady, I just don't want to have it for everyone to see at the moment simply because I don't know who does or doesn't read this forum (not meaning any authorities).

    Ye're a suspicious bunch, what're ye hiding? :p

Might be able to help, am an automotive engineer, also a qualified mechanic, but will only post on public thread. Don't do PM's on these things...

Don't worry about it. I don't see what the big deal is but seems obvious no one will take my word for it here, despite everything being written down.

The problem with what you are asking for is that only one person can offer a professional opinion to you, without a broader discussion possible from which a better analysis/understanding can often emerge. Two people here on the forum with the same skillset, experience, qualifications, etc, could often give you very different advice. One may spot something that another could assume to be not connected to your problem, which is why a forum discussion is much more useful for offering advice.

If you need professional advice, then consult an independent motor engineer/assessor.

Plus any advice given on a public forum will remain there for anyone else with a similar problem to refer to. (Speaking of which, try the search function in case this is already the case).

Otherwise, give it a try OP, they won't bite. :)
