    Took off from EIDW. Couldn't get into KJFK due weather. Diverted to KBOS.

    This thread title is regrettable. There are a myriad of reasons for a plane to divert before it could be described as being "in trouble".

    I too think the thread title is regretabble which imo infers tech reasons.....plain in simple the weather was sh@te in NYC yesterday with winds gusting upto 50kts, overcast 700 feet with 1 mile visibility. Holding delays over calverton were in telephone figs...hence it doesn't surprise re a diversion.

    Yep...sounds like dozens of other aircraft were in the same 'trouble'.
