    Hi
    In the middle of building a house. We're trying to decide on window frame colours inside. They will be black on the outside. Thinking brown doors, skirting and window boards. But would cream window frames work with this rather than the traditional white. Also considering brown window frames but would this then be too much? The sliding door in 2 of the rooms will also take the colour of the window frames. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

    Hiya,
    Would defo keep the interior finish light, is the finish offered by your window company ivory or cream? If you can get a light ivory it is softer than cream which can tend to look dull (even dirty sometimes). With the light finish you will not be restricted to the tone of the timber you use throughout the house and if its ivory you can use various shades of cream on your walls and it will not clash. You could also paint your skirting/architrave to the same shade and have any type of timber on your internal doors and floors.

    I have cream windows,Dulux white exterior with Dulux dark grey stripe and window reveals/sills on the outside

    Inside the frames are cream,eggshell window sills,white reveals and a mixture of all sorts of colours in the rooms in the house.

    Cream whites,greys,reds,biscuit and green colours.

    Works well imo.

    Having cream sliding doors on the inside "could be" a bit of overkill too.

    I went with oak shaker doors recessed into the walls,so that they slide back into the walls.

    If you have a window company im mind,then go and ask them for a sample of cream,brown and black window frames and then bring them home and do a mock up.Thats what I did.

    Then you can see what it would look like in real life.

    Paddy, can you edit the first post and keep them together please, no point in having 4 posts 1 after the other, keeps the thread tidier and easier to follow;
