looking for ballpark estimates (crown & braces)

right, background story is that I got a tooth smashed out when I was younger (front one) ...

have a temporary cap on it (well 3rd one now) with a "root fill" whatever that is, got it done after the nerve died a few years later

want to get braces to tidy up my teeth and close gaps, but was told I'd have to get the broken tooth sorted permanently first..

so, what I am wondering is, what sort of procedure am I looking at ? I know a guy with a similar situation and he had a temporary crown for the duration of his braces and got a proper crown done after .... is this the sort of route ?

also, could someone give me a ballpark idea of treatment in Ireland / N.Ireland for say crown, root canal, and braces (top teeth first, they dont seem to be too bad so maybe 6-8 months ?)

You need to see a specialist orthodontist for a consultation. They will advise you if it's possible to move the tooth as it stands, or if it needs a different restoration. They'll also be able to advise on treatment options, timeframe& costs. Once you know what treatment is required,& decide on the best option for you, then& only then can you "shop around". Every mouth is different, a clinical examination with a registered specialist orthodontist is the first step in the information process....more reliable than Google or a pals' advice ;) Best of luck OP

Why don't you ask your mate if he is in a similar boat? Everyone else here is guessing....

Get the tooth crowned after the braces....can't see any reason to do it first. Don't travel for braces.
