Bus+Dart ticket

    Hi, im starting to commute from Balbriggan to city center, and i think this is the ticket i need to travel w train and bus

    Adult 7 Day Short Hop €39.50
    Valid for unlimited travel for 7 consecutive days
    Valid on Dublin Bus scheduled services including Xpresso (excluding Airlink, Nitelink, Tours, Special Events and Private Contract services) and on DART and Suburban Rail services

    And i need to use this 7 days a row? so if im working mo-fri i cant use the 2 days remaining on next weeks monday and tuesday?

    If i buy the monthly version, do i need to buy it at the start of each month, or can it be bought in the middle of the month?

    How are these cards working, is it somekind of smartcard? Or do i physically show it to the driver etc?

    It goes from Sunday to Sunday afaicr, the monthly ticket covers a Calender month so you should get it at the start of the month or end of the previous month. If you buy in the middle of the month you will lose out, better to buy a weekly ticket each week until the end of the month then buy a monthly ticket for December, you place the ticket on the reader just inside the door of the bus and at dart/commuter stations there are validators at the ticket barriers
