I'm new to all this but have found that all the BBC radio stations have gone silent.I listen on the telly as there's a little satellite box beside it.
I believe BBC have changed their satellite settings or something but how do I retune that little box if such is possible or do I need to call out the satellite people to do something technical.
I'm not talking about SKY but about Freesat.

Is it a freesat box? If it is then you shouldn't lose channels like that unless there is a problem with your dish/cabling etc. I suspect you have a fta generic receiver, so you will need to retune them in on your receiver.

    check out the frequencies here:

You're not talking about a genuine Freesat branded receiver, as it would carry out automatic retunes when services change frequency.

BBC radio can now be found on these 2 transponders: 10788 mHz, vertical pol., SR 22000 & 10803 mHz, horizontal pol., SR 22000.

If you need help retuning, post the make & model of your receiver.

I have a Freesat box in my bedroom and I had to do a manual scan to get the BBC radio stations back - didn't do it automatically.

That's mad. Which Freesat box are you using?

    Very surprising.
I have the Humax Foxsat HDR and it's fine with all the channels, including radio.

That's the the thing - my HDR was fine, it was the just the other one.

Does the HD need to be left in standy overnight like the HDR? I ask because maybe that was the problem, it was powered off at the mains and didn't get it's overnight update.

Sometimes needs a couple of power cycles to find updates etc.

You'd think after 25-30 years of video recorders that people would be used to leaving AV equipment plugged in at night. Just do it. It won't burn your house down, no matter what your granny thinks.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.
