    Hi there,
Hoping someone out there with more knowledge than I can help with this one.

I have the sat and aerial signal coming down under the stairs.

The two signals go into an old sky box.
Then out to an F180 distribution box and from there out to different rooms in the house ie straight into sitting room tv

When Saorview came in I got a birthday present of a combi box.

I thought I just take the plug out of the tv, put it into the combi box,
then Id have the signal from the old sky box, plus the signal from the combi box.

But it doesnt seem to be working, I can only scan for the terristrial signal in the combi box.

    Any ideas greatly received.

    Thanks

The signal that comes out of the Sky box to the F180 amp. is a combination of a UHF analogue version of the programme being viewed on the box & the terrestrial aerial signal, when this is connected to RF-in. It doesn't include the signal from the satellite dish.

The combi box needs its own feed from the dish. If you want to view the Sky box programme on this tv, you'll have to connect a lead between the combi box RF-out & the tv's aerial input.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Do you mean I can split the signal coming into the TV?
    Put one into the TV
The other into the combi box and then into TV via HDMI?

    I attached a pic.

Or do you mean I will need a completely separate cable from the dish?

    Really confused,

    Thanks

The cable from the F180 doesn't carry satellite signals, only the aerial signal & the RF output of the Sky box (analogue version of the channel the box is tuned to).

You won't be able to tune in satellite channels on the combi, unless you connect a cable from the dish to its satellite input (usually labeled 'lnb in').

Is there a different type of distribution box that would carry a digital signal?
Or is it just a case that I need another cable from the dish?

If you want to tune in satellite channels on the combi box, you'll need a feed from the dish. The distribution box isn't involved with the satellite signal.

I'm assuming here that the Sky box is located 'under the stairs' & the cable from the F180 amp. is the only feed to the room where the combi box is located?
