Christmas shopping done, not a penny spent in Ireland

Finished the last of my Christmas gift shopping last night.
Only realised after smugly sitting down with my glass of wine that I never spent a single cent on an Irish retailer.
Santy for the kids was through UK shops on ebay & Amazon.
Tablets & smartphones for the grown ups were bought through a Chinese retailer that I've used many times before.

I know the government may get some VAT through Amazon, not sure about ebay & China normally comes through without the customs picking it up.
I didn't make a conscious decision to avoid Irish retailers but I always look for the best bang for my buck.

Should I feel guilty for not donning my green jersey (which incidentally can be got through ebay for €25)

despite the trolling of the OP, I expect it may actually be true for alot of people.

when you have Amazon, Ebay, etc. undercutting the high street so deeply, it's hard to justify buying locally.

People who say Santy should be denied voting rights.

Oh look, 2 apple fanboys, well if you like paying 3 times the price for an equally spec'd piece of kit go right ahead.
It almost as if the big name companies want you to believe that their lesser known competitors products are defective.

Support in a language you can understand has a value.

What's the last time you rang Samsung for support cause your Galaxy II couldn't play a mkv file.
You Google it, you find out why it's an issue, you fix it, then you move on.

I couldn't care less where anyone does their Christmas shopping.

Having it all done (or even started) before the middle of November annoys me.

I wonder do you say Santy in a south Dublin accent or a north Dublin accent. Assuming you are from Dublin. I never hear people outside that country say Santy.

He got the Anadin instead of the knob-extension tablets, an easy mistake to make with the online Mandarin translator.

Rabidlamb, your attempts at trolling are pretty lame.
Try it again and you'll find yourself at the end of a long ban.
    Final warning.
