Discogs will have plenty of that lad. Just do a search for who you are looking for.

I know it's a CD comp. you want but I have some of those on vinyl. Google Tripoli Trax for some of the better hard house from that era. Also have a look for some of the Trade compilations for some of that sound but most of the comps were probably mixed.

    Okay then…

On 30 May 1985, the day after the Heysel Stadium disaster, Margaret Thatcher's Anti-Hooligan 'War Cabinet' decided that something drastic had to be done to subdue the likes of the firms in Millwall and Liverpool and had heard reports from the states that a drug called MDMA which produced a placid, peaceful non violent feeling in the people that had taken it. They decided through the use of well known Narcs Oakenfold, Rampling and Holloway to introduce the drug via an underground government drug cartel situated on the island of Ibiza.

But the drug proved to be far more popular than the government had anticipated and soon lawyers were mixing with builders and it soon looked like the drug could have a destabilising effect on the social order in Britain. With this in mind, the establishment turned to scientists to find some way of restoring the natural social strata in the country. They developed the WCHS or working class homing signal based on the hard repetitive noises found in industrial estates which caused nausea and dizziness in anyone with an IQ over 93. Again, through the use of subterfuge, the government introduced this into nightclubs under the moniker of hard house, with attendant imagery based around clothing found on traveller women and soon the natural order of things re-established itself.

I'm not doing your digging for you but I'd be amazed if you couldn't. If it's been released in the last 30 years, chances are it's on discogs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,089 ✭✭✭JAMES VTI S

there is a very very small selection there

anyone every ought off discogs ??

Yeah, discogs is fine to buy off. Check the sellers feedback, just like you would with Ebay and you'll be grand.

I really don't understand how you can't find what you're looking for on there though. It's possibly the largest single database of music on the planet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,089 ✭✭✭JAMES VTI S

i understand that, see hard house is not as popular i guess

The problem with the Hard House compilations is that there's not many good ones.

Like somebody said already the Trade CD's are quality & the finest showpiece for Hard House music but there mixed Cd's.

I think Tripoli Trax released 1 or 2 unmixed CD's around the early 00's. Other than that can't really think of anymore. Maybe Tinrib released a unmixed compilation.

Never thought i'd see a hard house thread on here,http://www.toolboxdigitalshop.com/ is the best website for hard house. I know you were looking for cds but why limit yourself to whats available on cd when there such a massive selection available for download and there are only £1.50 each

Some good tracks on these cds too http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?q=toolkit+series

Did he release a record on Kavanaghs Baby Doll records? If it's the the same person I'm thinking about the record he released on Baby Doll was absolutely amazing.

Yeah its the same guy, he runs Tripoli Trax. The tracks on Baby Doll were Jam Busta / Dream Machine (DMF).
