    Hi all,

just purchased the Nikon 5100 on grounds that it produces pics of same quality as 7000. But I have one question.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to suppress the pop up flash in Manual mode when shooting in low light. As I can't seem to find the answer in the manual

    Thanks.

Strange. In P,A,S or M the pop-up flash should not pop up unless you specifically ask it to.
Are you very new to DSLR's? Are sure you are in manual mode and that you have the flash pushed down before firing? If the flash has popped up from a previous shot, maybe in Auto, then it will fire in manual mode if left in that position.

Hi thanks for reply. I'd like to say that was a rookie question but alas far from it :o. I just think I misread the manual which wasn't very clear - but then again they generally aren't so or have to be. Thanks for clearing that up.
