Just to let you all know that the December issue of Vogue magazine is available in Tescos for 3 euro ....YES 3 euro! I couldn't believe my eyes as it usually retails around 6 euro. I got a price check to see if it was true and indeed it was.

    Cool! That's for posting.

It's probably the best magazine for high quality fashion pics.

I've been getting Vogue for years now but because the price of it has dropped, annoyingly, so has the quality. Dunno if I'll bother with it anymore.

Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative quality fashion mag?

It depends what you are looking for I guess? When I buy a fashion magazine I am looking for fashion spreads that are informative and realistic. Vogue probably doesn't fit into that genre, although I find it quite inspirational. My favourite would be InStyle which combines both aspects I mentioned above. I don't buy these magazines for current affairs articles and I find that a lot of titles are going down that road. I simply want fashion and beauty news, tutorial spreads and what's in the shops. I will not be buying any of the monthlies published at the start of January as I find there is really nothing new in them and they are considerably slimmed down. Next month's issues should be great though. The cost of magazines here is extremely prohibitive. They are all slowly creeping up to the six euro mark or over. Just not value for money. As an aside, I think the magazine of choice at the moment for a lot of twenty something's (not me!) is Allure.

I tend to buy magazines whenever they seem like good value. I normally get Elle UK, but sometimes it's a huge bumper issue, and other times it's a tiny thin thing for the same price.

Freebies do sometimes sway me :D Free Benefit products, or other recognisable brands, are tempting for 4-6 euro

Yeah, I like Elle for the extra catwalk/trend magazine that it sometimes includes.

Used to love vogue - but 6euro for a mag is a load of pants! Agree with the above poster in that despite the price drop, these days you are just buying a book of glossy advertising with little or no content.

Also buy glamour buy only for the free stuff it sometimes includes (nails inc polishes, benefit, etc.).

These days I tend to just read blogs. These are free and knowledgeable bloggers often give informative opinions on the price and quality of products. However, this can be a double edged sword as many of these blogs are churning out 'sponsored posts' - so really bloggers are showcasing stuff because it was sent to them and they're required to. *Sigh . . . Fashion industry*

Sent my sister down to our local Tesco yesterday to pick up Vogue only to find it wasn't 3 euro :(

On the plus side, the Diorskin Nude BB Cream sample was pretty nice. Way too dark to wear without something lighter on top, but my skin feels all nice and looks brighter :D

I picked the January issue up for 3.50 euro in Eason in Cork City on the 27th of December.
