    I have 2 Car insurances with chill.ie
    <snip>
    When I took (Policy No: <snip>)with my learner permit in February 2012 they promised me that i will get some refund when i get a full License. but when i get my Full license on 13 July and submitted it to them on 17 Oct they told me that I will get nothing back.

    When I take the second policy (Policy No: <snip>) they explained the huge policy amount is just because i added my wife to that policy and she has got only learner permit. and a few days later I decided to take my wife off from the policy and they refunded only 30 EUR.. so i checked with other agents they quoted me around 300 EUR less. so decided to cancel that policy with chill but they are asking for a big amount as Admin charges.

    all these are not fair Chill..

    <snip>

    You should edit your post and remove your reg number from it?

    With insuarance you have to shop around.

    Why are you quoting your policy numbers on a public forum? That's a bit silly.

    Chill saved me at least €800 compared to anyone else. I like Chill.

    I pay €300 a year with zero no claims for a fairly high performance Merc. Most other companies quoted around €1000.

    Delighted with them! It took a little haggling and always ring around and play companies off each other.

    Why did you wait three months to tell them about you passing your test?

    The amount that you could get refunded usually decreases as the year goes on, any usually by the 8th month of a policy you will get little or nothing back. Had you informed them in July that you now have a full license then you probably would have gotten something back from them.

    Cant say much about the second policy as to why it was so expensive. What were you trying to insure; a second car was it?

    I thought they will consider the date of passing the test. rather than the date submitting the document. I was told like that.
    the second car is a micra 1.2 2003.charged around eur 790 for it. with full license and 5 years no claim.

    They may be underwriting / sharing the risk with another ins co. if that's the case you needed to tell them so they could tell the other party. Just a guess.
