Use external mouse and keyboard and close the lid. Change the power settings to "Do nothing when I close the lid".

Cheers, are they run by USB or something? What's the tech term for them and I'll search amazon or somewhere?

    Thanks

USB mouse and keyboard should do or a wireless combo. If it's an older laptop, it might also have a P/S2 mouse port.
