    Jesus, the article comments are ridiculous. Would it be OK if they were farmed to be eaten? If that's the case, why isn't all the fish we eat farmed? Had no idea swans were a protected species, actually. Is there just feck all of them or what?

    From the days of English rule - I think it was Queen Victoria? She liked swans so had them protected by law.
