Velvet Goldmine is said to be loosely based on the rise and decline of Ziggy.

In this fictional account; the GLAM ROCK world is blown wide-open, using opulent sets, costuming, original tunes and era hits. A New York journalist that came of age during its height, researches the Glam Rock movement, in search of its leading recluse. This film features authentic and fictional characterizations, songs, and events representative of the era. (It is only as much about David Bowie and Iggy Pop, as THE ROSE was about Janis Joplin; Close enough for similarities, but, loose enough for artistic license.) The characters help plot the boundaries of the Orgyistic, Gay and Bi-Sexual mores of the 1970's.

Stars: Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ewan McGregor, Eddie Izzard, and Christian Bale. Rated R, for language, sexual situations, mature themes, and copious nudity.
