I think it looks very promising in print, should look even better in the flesh.

But according to the Irish website, no aircon in Dynamique, and electric rear windows an option on all trim levels...

Have Renault Ireland been paying attention to Kia and Hyundai?

New Megane also look like a big step forward...

Should look better in the flesh??

When has this ever been true about any car?

Seen it in a renault garage in Luxembourg over the weekend, It's fairly distinctive and is visibly bigger than the older one. not sure i liked it though, maybe when i see more i'll change my mind.

    Exterior is nice and customizable...

I'm sure you can tone down the interior. Nice Dials to be fair.

Exterior styling options are pretty cool. I think this will be a hit with young folks for sure. If there was a decent petrol option it would be a mini rival for sure

It's a proper new car unlike the updated old platform peugeot 208, well received by autocar too

New clio sits on an updated mark 3 platform. Not sure what I make of it, but the last one was a void of style. Nicole wouldn't have been seen dead in the thing.

    Megane looks smart for once.

Doesn't look too much different than the current one, just a little face lift on the front by the looks of it. The side and rear, what you can see of it in that photo, looks pretty much the same.

Renault Clio looks good. The Megane is fugly.

Why are you surprised, it is Ireland we're talking about after all?

Then again, Irish people always buy the poverty spec version of any given car, so we get what we deserve. It's €1,200 extra for the 900 cc turbo, I wonder will anyone bother buying it? It does have the lure of saving one euro a week on road tax:D!

    Beautiful looking car. Very coupe-like.

The diesel engine will do a combined 88mpg, and the three pot petrol 66mpg. Quite impressive!

What's this coupe thing? when did hatchbacks start looking like coupes?

Like the pop music they call R and B.

You misquoted him, he said even better.

I would put forward the Alfa 159 Ti as a car which looks great in pictures but even better in reality.
And as for a car that looks meh in photos but good in reality I would say the Laguna Coupe or the Fiat Coupe.

I'm sure other people have examples.

Not true, the current range of Meganes come with aircon as standard on all trim levels, parking sensors on the base models. The current clio I had as a loner was fully equipped too so it's odd they seem to be taking a step back with the new clio.

Saw a black one a few days ago. Beautiful car. Definitely the best looking supermini on the road IMO.

    I have to agree.

There's a nice kinda sporty one locally. Looks great.

I have been driving one, diesel , in 11 days tried to empty the tank 75 euro worth but failed, drove up mountains etc not sure of milage covered but it is very economical, even has an eco setting that I did not use ! ! Horrible gearbox , car generally soft and soggy

I'm not a fan of red cars but the Clio Red is very eye catching.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,574 ✭✭✭dharn

Ya have to agree, that is a special red , the overall look of the car is very nice
