What would life be like without the internet?

    And all other electronic communications?

Imagine a Earth is hit directly by the mother of all class X solar flare. It instantly fries all communication satellites and sends them plummeting down to the planet, blows out most of the power grids in the world sending the world in an irreparable blackout, all communications are down. Radio is nothing but static, mobile phones have no reception, all internet is down and basically the life on earth has been sent 100yrs into the past.

How do you think we would cope with such an event?
What would you do if something like that was to happen?
Do you think we could survive in such a world without falling into complete chaos and anarchy?

I'd not know how many cool parties I was missing for a start.

Also all the horrific stuff like rioting, cannibalism and line dancing might break out.

    EVERYONE TO THE BOMB SHELTER!!!

There'd be a mass scramble for dirty magazines. They'd become our new currency.

Of course because none of that ever happened before mass communication.

Remember the mid to late 90s? Yea, life would be a bit like that.

It would take less than year to set it up again. Likely new network would have better tracking system. Actual wire would be used rather than phone cell system.

It would be basically the same except most people would spend 90% of their day bouncing around on the tip of their nob.

    Less spam.
People would still be watching T.V en masse
Places like Xtra-Vision and HMV would be doing a roaring trade.

Theres a new TV series out in America at the min called Revolution, where basically electricity doesn't work anymore. Its a great idea for a show but the actors are fairly awful.

I think you'd see some chaos but people are resourceful.. In fairness humans survived for a very long time without any of the things you describe..

Hell I remember life without most of them and we managed just fine.:o

I think lots of people born after 1990 would be in for quite a shock indeed..

rife with old timers telling tales about the internets, back in the day, and how, if we head out west, Californ-y way, we just might find some internets left...

We survived for centuries without these things, we would again.
