Anyone getting the Freevied HD channels experiencing problems with UTV HD? The audio is half a second late compared to the picture. Thought it was my tv until i asked a few other people who were getting same problem. It's from Sheriffs mountain. All other HD channels are ok which makes me think it's one of their feed or links to the MUX. Doesn't happen all the time but that often to make me switch to the SD channel

I thought seeing UTV in HD was going to be great, but i can't watch it when it's like that! The ITV "this morning" programme, Eamonn Holmes was talking nearly a second after his mouth had stopped moving. X-Factor was terrible to watch on Saturday with same problem. All the other HD's were working ok, so UTV get your act together and get the Arqiva engineers to get this fixed.
What's the point in an HD channel if you can't watch it.

The DOG is also a disgrace, too bright, bold and it's in the 4:3 safe zone... Amateurs!

I noticed that. Too far into the middle of the screen. But the voice a second behind whatever is happening on screen is the worst.

DOG is definitely too bright. Even the one on the SD picture is brighter than when they originally introduced it.

Reason for it in the 4:3 safe zone I reckon is because the position of the DOG is related to the graphics used by UTV Live reports - if you notice they are carefully placed to overlap. Still in a now 16:9 broadcasting world there's no excuse for that now - most broadcasters abandoned 4:3 safe DOGs and graphics a few years ago, a few exceptions are BBC News channel and TV3.

I contacted my friend who work for UTV
I asked him about the sync and the engineer told him that they were aware of it and is sorted on Tuesday, He asked me to let him know if it is still not right and they will look at it again.
I been away for few days so I have not yet seen the result,
Have anyone else still see it out of sync?

I have asked him to inform someone in UTV if possible to reduce the brightness of the DOG and move to edge of 16:9

Yep, been having dreadful lip sync problems ever since the station started at DSO.

    That and the dreadful D.O.G.

If you're going to have HD pictures why ruin it with this ruibbish ?

If you really need to have a D.O.G. then tone it down and put it either on the bo=ttom right or top right of the screen.

What's really annoying is the D.O.G vanishes when the ads come on. It's almost like an insult to viewers, as if advertisers are somehow far more important.

Sky has got their D.O.G policy just right now. Wish UTV HD would follow suit.

Lipsync on HD channels seems to be a general issue with Freeview HD. Had this issue when living in Chester. ITV HD was ALWAYS half a second of so out of sync with the picture. The other HD channels weren't as bad but they weren't perfect.

Now, since the switchover, I'm experiencing the same issue here in Louth. Running of Divis, but I don't think it's necessarily the transmitter that's the issue.

My HD box has a lip sync correction feature but it's annoying to have to do this, and it doesn't really work perfect.
