Could " Our Vinnie " be a Cheltenham banker?

I was hugely impressed in the manner in which he won the grade 3 yesterday in Cork. For a horse to win on ground that he does"nt like, in a race that was run at no pace for much of it , and having to do the donkey work himself, the way he fought back to win on the line having been headed by RTW says it all for me.
Its well known what connections think of RTW so DR must be kicking himself to have missed out on riding OV. When he ran at Cheltenham recently, he was desperately unlucky to fluff the last hurdle and loose a few lengths, but came up the hill as if he was on roller skates to be beaten by just a head.

I know that Byrne"s yard is on fire ATM but this one stands out in my mind.Any opinions??

Did he not fluff a couple of hurdles in cheltenham when the pace was increased? I'd like to see him able to jump cleanly at speed before I'd be putting the children's inheritance on him. He does have ability though so worth keeping an eye on.

Not a chance. That race at Cheltenham was an average novice hurdle. What race do you think he would be our banker in?

Rule The World is a chaser in the making and was having only his second start over hurdles. He is a far better prospect than Our Vinnie and that race yesterday was a poor enough race.

I doubt Russell will be kicking himself too much. The team of horses gigginstown have this year will no doubt ease the pain of missing out on one winner by a head!

Cheltenham banker is a slight bit of hyperbole but this horse has been punted by a shrewd stable a number of times & probably needs decent ground (I was at Punchestown when he ran 3rd & over heard Byrnes say the ground had gone against it)

Byrnes has a good record in the Albert Bartlett but for now he's one to possibly keep an eye on rather than look for ante post prices about. He really needs to improve his jumping though, it cost him the race in Cheltenham in October when the subject of a monster gamble

I'd fancy Rule The World to reverse that form next time out. He's very green and inexperienced. The race yesterday will have brought him on a tonne.

Anything that Byrnes punts off the boards is a very good horse. He did the same with Triufolium last year, Solwhit another.

Our Vinnie could be good and may be a cheltenham contender. But definitely no banker on the basis of a bunch finish in an ok grade 3 at Cork.

    Ugly jumper also.
