    Folks,
Missus Focus, 2008 1.6 TDCI, its going into limp mode at just under 3k revs and any searches I have looked at are pointing towards the Engine temp sensor.
So anyone know where these are on that engine and what sort of price I can expect to pay for it?

Any pointers in taking it out and putting it back in :D

    Thanks

You really need to get it plugged in to see what causing this fault.
If you pick up any fualt codes post them up here and someone should be able to help...:)

There are a few temp sensors on these engines.
1)one built into the mass airflow sensor.
2)one on the air intake this is on the throttle body.
    3)coolent temp sensor
    4)oil temp sensor
    5)diesel temp sensor

I know what you are saying, haven't access to a computer down here myself.

whats funny is that its the same problem as was happening to my own mondeo, and it was the EGR valve.

Are you in Gway? Working in HP myself, have to get the cv joint done in my own car mid week, but I might spin up with hers on Thurs or Friday.

That would be AWFUL sound :)

    How much do you charge?

Sorry to answer the question, what happens is once it hits say 2800 revs the car limps, so that she had to pull in to get it working again.
What I was doing is clutching and restarting the car and then it was sound.

Its identical to the ST when it was doing it, I got a 2nd hand EGR valve off traynors for 50 euro and put it in myself.

It will only take a few minutes to pick up the fault code(s) so don't worry to much about money....if you want to meet up then pm me your mobile no..;)
