    hello this is my first post, im in a suitation where my father has the land and is/was farming it but my brother at home who is 17 does all the farming as my father is not well, my brother was asking me about getting it down in his name as everything has to be done through the owl lad so do any of ye know what age does one have to be or is there corses that has to be done, i am 25 but i dont do the farming i do help out a bit but theres no point getting my name put down on it

    Both need to talk to solicitors, and different ones at that, as both needs are different. You must be 18 to own the property.

    father needs to discuss his needs into the future, right of residence, maintenance etc and young lad needs to discuss his needs and duties regarding the fathers needs.

    if only all families were as open and willing as you when it comes to this topic...

    as said above you need to get solicitors involved to ensure there is no area over looked that could be a bone of contention in years to come.... your fathers means for example.
