Hey everyone, i am a lone parent with one child...i recently had a baby and got a form asking if my circumstances had changed. I told them i now had a second child, i thought that i would now be entitled to extra income but nothing has changed. Is there another form i need to fill out? if so where do i get it?
    Thanks in advance.

You would be entitled to the extra 29.80 per week.I would say they are just processing it now and you will get all the back money whenever its done.

    Agreed
You would also be entitled to children's allowance for the second child and need to fill out the relevant form for that

Your local Social Welfare Office will have all the info you need.

Thanks everyone for replying, yes i did get the child benefit already when i registered the birth. It could be that it's just taking awhile, it has been about 6 weeks now......

no need to complete any child benefit application forms for second or subsequent children. the child/children will be added to your claim automatically.
OP did you go to your SW office to have the new baby added to your OPFP to get the 29.80, and they subsequently sent you an application form, or did they write out to you unsolicited?

Most likely investigating the claim,OFP are fairly strict when someone on it has another child.Need to check is there co-habitation etc

@mrsbyrne i didn't go to my social welfare office. I got a letter in the post reviewing my claim for LP payment and on it it asked if my circumstances had changed, i wrote down that i gave birth to another child so i assumed that either they would send me another form or update my payment.

you have to go in an notify social welfare that you had another child. this would be flagged to them when you registered the child and got a ppsn. so they will review you now and ask you are a lone parent with a second child that you did not notify them about and will also ask regarding maintenance for the second child.

As others are telling you here melody, a red flag has popped up against your name in the Dept. You have had another baby while claiming to be parenting alone. You were automatically awarded Child Benefit for this new child, but you didnt apply to have the baby added to your OPFP claim, so suspicions have been raised that you have something to hide, ie that you are co-habiting.
If you are not co-habiting then you have nothing to worry about, but a visit from the SW Inspector is probably on the cards. Try not to worry.

@mrsbyrne i don't know how to add my child to the OPFP??? i would have if i knew how since i haven't heard back. There reason the review was sent out was because i had informed them that i wasn't claiming rent allowance anymore. I informed them of this in the review and of the birth of my child.
