Long shot, but does anyone know anything about importing forage (hay, haylage, grains). Got a neighbour looking for special stuff for their nags from the UK or France. No problems organising the purchase, haulage, boat etc but presume the Dept of Ag have to be notified and someone probably inspects on entry. The feed would be coming with the feed accrediation cert so would be 100%. I know plenty comes in already but anyone doing it are quite when asked :D

Don't know the details, bob, but Coolmore import hay, even with their own drier-barns.
If you know anyone there, they might help?

A buddy of mine works in Coolmore , I'm not sure how much of the business side he knows but I'll buzz him tomorrow and post it up here if he has any info about how they bring the hay in

yes. They have big barns with driers like grain-dryers. They bring in the hay green off fields and dry it inside.
