when you buy ewe lambs (for your own breeding) in the mart with one tag (original Farmer) in the left year, what do you do when you want to tag them. Do you put in two new tags from your own flock....one plain on the left and one electronic on the right? Do you cut out the old tag? do you order an electronic tag to match the original farmers tag?

    confused

    Hi Iron man,

Like you say - put in two new tags from your own flock, "one plain on the left and one electronic on the right", leave in the old tag, and record the replacement from the old tag to the new E-id numbers in your flock register.

See page 146 of this doc

Looks like an interesting document, must read through it later.

Best of luck with your ewe lambs Iron man.

    very interesting read....

from what i can gather i can cut out the old mart tag (making sure to record it in the registrar first) then put in my EID set.... Making sure the EID set matches the old mart tag in the book.

    A alot of work.....
