Your problem must be in the Master cylinder servo, why else would it only appear when engine is running?

Well thats my thinking too its just the fact that the brakes were all good yesterday apart from the one stuck caliper!

You must still have air in there somewhere, did you bleed both rears? Did you bleed by pedal pumping or pressure bleed?

Hopefully CJ will be along who knows LCs very well but I think you still have air trapped. I have seen Girling servo's collapse internally though from over vigorous pedal pumping, don't know whether Toyota ones are prone to this?

Only did the rear calliper in mine last month (03 old shape) and bled it on the pedal with engine running. No problems at all since. As Sean said, you still have air, or it could be a cylinder problem. Check underneath for leaking fluid.

No oil leaks at all the oil level is not dropping at all in the bottle! We bled it with pedal pumping engine off and engine on!! getting a good pedal with the engine off but as soon as its started pedal goes to the floor then bleed again and air in it again bleeding all around starting with the furtherest away wheel every time!! with the engine running can pump up a good pedal nut this puts the handbrake light on and the pedal doesnt stay good never had this problem before with brakes!!

If the handbrake light is coming on then there is a fluid level problem. Not doubting your ability, but check it again, as there's a filtration mesh at the top of the bottle that may give the appearance of full fluid, along with a discolouration of the reservoir bottle. Not sure if theres a sensor for the master cylinder

You need to bleed the master cylinder, take the pipes off at the M/C and get someone to slowly press the pedal, block the holes with your fingers and repeat.
Then bleed the rest of the lines the usual way.
If this doesn't work then you should also check the LSPV valve at the rear axle, they can stick and give trouble.

Well lads another day done at the landcruiser, changed the caliper, changed the master cylinder must have bled it twenty times same result!Pumped the fluid through it with a bleeding pump four times! Still a poor pedal have brakes but the pedal is right down to the floor bled the lsv aswell! This is baffling me and everyone i have asked does anyone out there know of any toyota mechanics i could contact to ask?? Rang my local dealers and as with most dealers they said that they never had any trouble like this!!

When you changed the caliper did you fill the caliper through the bleed nipple before you fitted it?
Air can get trapped behind the piston.
If you take the caliper off and squeeze the piston in while the bleed nipple is open and pointing up sometimes you can get air out.
Clamp the flexible hose while you do it.
