Anyone know of any shops in the Dublin (11) area that sells reasonably priced bikes?... I'm getting sick of the walk to work already in this cold weather!

Well, within the €100 mark and any bike at all, second hand would do

Yeah thanks for the help but €150 for a bike to use twice a day is too much (cheapskate i know), but i'll keep looking

How many times a day would you have to use it to justify spending 150 euro on it?

€150 is the asking price, you could make an offer.

You'll be really scraping the barrel to get any kind of decent bike for 100 euro. Most likely, it's going to be no fun to ride, probably have some mechanical issues. Which may well leave you spending much more than you had hoped. Such cheapo bikes are commonly a false economy (or worse, just plain dangerous).

I really urge you to save up and spend a little more on the bike. It'll be more comfortable, safer, faster, much more fun to cycle, and likely to be cheaper in the long run. If you were to spend in the region of 200 euro, you would be getting much much more than twice as a good a bike as a 100 euro one.

What kind of mileage would you be doing?

Is €100 - €150 too much for a bike? You would struggle to get a decent set of lights for €100 for your bike, never mind a mike itself.

And on the other hand there are some people out there that can justify spending €20,000 or more on a car that they use twice a day.

Litte Sport in Fairview sell second hand bikes, there are lots outside

Easy to find that place, it's right by the pedestrian bridge

Once you buy a lock, there will be a significant chunk of your €100 budget gone.

Here's a fine example that should fit your budget lights included, pouch for the lunch and no need for a lock I'd be willing to bet :)
