    Hi,

I also need to get a new laptop. Been reading lots of posts and trying to understand all the lingo to help me pick one but am finding it all a bit confusing!

I'll use it for Microsoft office, music, photos, watching films. tv online etc
Nothing too fancy. (Would like if MS office was included.

Have read about the new processors and have v basic understanding of RAM etc. I dont have a clue about difference between Windows 7 or 8..do I want Windows 8?

I've always had a Dell, my friend has a Sony and thinks its great. I dont want to spend a fortune on it max I'm willing to go is 600, would be far happier with 400-500 mark though.

Any advice would be so greatly appreciated!
    N

    Sleek Design with Full Functionality

The ASUS K56CA grey hairline design gives this notebook a professional look. In spite of its slimness it does not shed critical features necessary for everyday use such as an optical drive or 3 USB ports and a SD card reader. ASUS has focused on build quality, giving the exterior a strong rigid finish and a one-piece molded top casing. In terms of audio, ASUS has included its Sonic Master technology offering powerful sound and a rich base.
