    Hi

Basically i have a small problem. I signed up to a one year course but didn't realize there was work experience included. The work experience is for about 4 weeks approximate i think.

I have a very bad work reference from my previous job (i was as good as sacked for misconduct) and think this is going to impact me on trying to find work experience. I don't want my tutor to find out about my bad reference. Also have a bad reference for my job before this last job if you understand me. Got on fine for 90% of the time I was there but its just the 10% that I didn't get on well.

Do you think employers will look for references IF I'm only going to be there for four weeks? I was hoping my tutor on the course would give me a reference herself and that that would cover it.

Sort of getting sick with worry about this.

    Probably better here bluestar2010

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

They are not likely to look for references for work experience, first impressions seem to be what get you w/e. Sounds like you need to get your act together a bit though, you will need references for future jobs.

I agree, work experience providers rarely look for references. But it is definitely time to give your professionalism on the job a makeover because it will start to impact on your opportunities from here on in. Employers for jobs do now check references, I've taken calls from several in the last couple of years and they tend to ask very specific questions.
