17 year old male looking for a job, I'm not particularly talented at anything.

Looking for any job that will pay minimum wage. My strengths if any are that I can do physical labor I guess, did well in the leaving but I doubt that matters.

So guys, where do I look/start looking? Any help at all is appreciated :)

First thing is to stop selling yourself short - telling employers that you're "not particularly talented at anything" won't get you very far! You're not expected to be superman on leaving school; put down any achievements that you have, sports achievements, driving licence, extracurricular stuff, anything.

Focus on what you are good at first, then the rest, and then circulate CV's to anyone who'll take one. Keep an eye on www.jobs.ie - ouf of 4 jobs I've had, I got 3 from that website.

What category do I search in on jobs.ie?

For general retail stuff, search Retail->Other. There won't be a huge amount of stuff, but cherry pick anything you're interested in and fire off a CV and brief cover note. If you're not in you can't win.

Put a good bit of effort into a CV and cover note though. It's the only first impression an employer gets, so make it look good.

From someone who was in your situation don't bother too much with jobs.ie too many people use it. Try looking on the website of a place you'd like to work for... Like penneys and mcdonalds have their own career websites. Its also nearing christmas and this is a good time look for work. Dunnes are hiring so get your cv in there.
Hand out cvs to you will get something back its how i got my current job now. Getting a job just for christmas now is a good start because some places might even offer you a permanent position after christmas
    good luck!
