jvc sky tv code not working anymore

I've two jvc tvs and for years the two sky plus remotes that I have were able to operate the tvs using the code 0053 but this has all of a sudden stopped and no code will work at all on either. I've also got a phillips tv and they work for this. I rang sky and they said to contact jvc. Anyone else ever come across this problem?

Anyone else ever come across this problem? This is wrecking my head. No matter how many times I re enter the codes nothing happens.

Thanks to both of you for the replies but I did come across them before, still no joy. Incidently when the code 0053 doesnt work the instructions say to press tv and standby repeatedly but when I press tv for the first time the red light blinks 4 times.

Try reseting the Sky remote

1 press tv
2 hold red button and select until led flashes twice
3 press tv
4 press 999
5 Led flashes twice.

Your remote is now reset

Then try putting in 0053 code, just worked for me now, hope this helps

No still no joy, stop 5 only kicks in when I press a fourth digit, thanks anyway

Put in the code as normal, tv-hold select and red- tv- 0053- press stand by

If the tv doesnt switch off press tv again and then stand by. You need to continue pressing tv and stand by untill the tv shuts off and press select button when it does.

To reset the remote leave out step 3 above and just press tv- select and red-999-select.

There are several revisions of sky remote. Later ones have more codes.
for example newer SKY remotes can be used with SKY+ (Select + yellow etc) but older ones can't

It looks like these remotes have a finite life, I bought a new one and it works perfect
