Any opinions appreciated on this GTC.

    Hatchback
    No older than 6-7 years
    Good tyres
    Low milage
    Good to drive
    NCT

Dealer will service it, fix 2-3 scratches, rims refurbish and gives 3 months warranty on everything.

Does she have good suspension, wishbones etc stuff down there?
    Electronics allright?

I just got a civic 1.8, would have one over an Astra any day, that one doesn't seem cheap enou for what it is.

I would have thought that 1.8 would be valued less than a 1.4 version,

7-8k would get you an OPC. might as well go for proper one.

I have no idea about Opels :o

well 240hp has even some punch and only 2l engine. Will check that defo!
Is the OPC any how more expensive to maintain / drive than GTC?

This friend doesn't like Civic for some reason,
    Golf and Focus too expensive.
Would stretch only for Volvo C30 if found any..

Also important for her is to have peace of mind from the day one, to get full service and whatever warranty available.

Any extra horsepowers are welcome as long as insurance and tax is not much more than the GTC.

You're going from a 1.8 coupe to a 240BHP monster yoke, unless ''she'' is older I'd imagine the insurance will go up quite a bit in comparison. Tax would be €660 per year and fuel economy would be fairly poor I'd imagine.

Had an old small car for almost two years now, age 30, Irish license. Have to check OPC insurance tomorrow but fuel consumption could put her off.

Looks play big part too  and this is nice motor hands down
