    Hi all,
my friend has a Saorview box connected to a CRT TV, and had to retune this morning as none of the Irish channels where being received and following the retune all was fine except for RTE2, which HAS sound but no picture, any ideas on what could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance...

Its not a Saorview approved box if its behaving like that.

That description is typical of a Standard Definition MPEG4 box. MPEG4 H264 has different level profiles, Level 3(SD) and Level 4(HD). RTE2HD broadcsts in MPEG4 H264 L4 (HD).

It is not unusual that someone would have one of these. Countless amount of them were sold on the net (including those little scart like devices). Boxes wise the Picnic Box is defo one of these.

Unfortunately the box will never pick up RTEHD as it is outside the boxes capabilities. When TG4 switches to HD fairly soon that station will be gone too.
