So if I want to get a flight from Dublin tomorrow morning (Saturday) to anywhere outside UK or Ireland, and come back Sunday night, and pay no more than say €250, is there anywhere online I can find a flight? Ryanair & Aer Lingus websites obviously need me to enter the destination, but I don't know the destination because I'm just looking for a destination that's cheap.

Never mind, Skyscanner has an "Anywhere" option for the destination - that does the trick

The Anywhere/Everywhere destination option on skyscanner is great for planning trips, I've seen some amazing deals on flights using it.

OP out of curiosity where did you go?!?

I went to Bergamo early on Saturday, and came back on Sunday night. Spent a few hours in Bergamo, a few in Milan, and a few in Como. It rained pretty much non stop. It was a change from lounging around watching Netflix though.

I think I'll use it again soon but with a bit more planning (but not too much). I'd like to see Bruge, and I heard that Krakow is good.

I've done a couple solo 36 hour type 'adventures', they involve feck all packing and not a lot of prep work so I think they're great.

I recommend Budapest for such a trip, Krakow is probably next on my list or maybe a neighboring eastern European city.

I went to Budapest this time last year, used it as a starting point and took buses and trains through Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania for 2 weeks. Constantly moving moving moving, because I'm not a great sightseer and I get bored after half a day looking at churches and statues and whatever.

I've booked Ryanair to Charleroi & back for the weekend after next; €120 including extra legroom. Am going to spend some of Saturday in Ghent and then get to my hotel in Bruges. I watched the film last night. I'm going to do a bit of reading and research this time before I go so that the place has more meaning and maybe it will add to the experience.
