Gift Basket

    Hi i want to make my sister in law a gift basket for a new baby, just wondering where i would pick up the basket ? can be cardboard or wooden. is there any particular shops around dublin that i might get supplies in ?

    re: basket: You can purchase some empty wicker baskets in florists, and some pharmacies, although argos sell these wicker baskets (see here).

    re: supplies: Then you can design and make personal your own basket with the items you know the intended person will make use of & would appreciate. What everyday items would see use eg: cosmetics and perfume; or is she a gardener - some gardening tools and flowers/seeds. Let you mind go with what to fill your basket with :)

    You can always afterward decorate the basket with bows & ribbons etc and make it all girlie and dressie :)

    I did one of these a little while ago - I used a small pink tuba-ware box I got for deal (the also have them in lavender, mint green and baby blue) - it was about 12inches by 8inches, was a great base for the hamper and useful after wards :)

    I do these "baskets" regularly as gifts for family.

    I don't buy a basket but I buy a bath in Mothercare (17 euro) tops and just fill it weekly from there.
