    Hi Folks,

I have Sky HD & Multiroom in 3 roms in the house. I also have Sky boxes in 2 other rooms and am currently using UK cards in them so have a limited number of UK stations. My help wanted is:

    1. Is there a better way to increase the number of channels in the rooms I have the UK cards without a monthly subscriptions, e.g. get Irish channels etc

    2. I am upgrading the multiroom to HD boxes, I only have single cables in the other two rooms mentioned above, is there any point putting the Sky + boxes I'm moving from the multiroom locations into these rooms?

    Thx.

Irish channels are not FTA on that satellite because of rights issues.
To get Irish channels use terresterial aerial + Saorview receiver(s)

Since the saorview receivers can record you may not need to get one for each TV

If you purchased TV's in the republic in the last two years then they should get saorview ( you can return as not fit for purpose) - if not and it's a digital TV check the menu in case you can choose a different country like Ireland (or France ? / Scandaniva)
Freeview HD tv's should work, the non-HD ones won't

If you are near the north it might be possible to get RTE on a UK transmitter with a non-HD freeview TV

    What is your budget ?
What TV channels do the neighbours get on their aerial ?

Yes there are Irish channels on Satellite, but don't even consider it unless it's impossible to get with an aerial. None of your existing SKY equipment can be used to get Saorsat.

Have a look at the foreign satellite forum to see what else is out there, eg Eurosport is free , two satellites over (again your SKY box won't get them)
