    well all...
two quick questions...car(02 audi a4) failed nct last week and needs two new tyres..to cut to point...would i be better of investing in 4 new tyres while i have a few quid to spare or just replace the 2 that are worn?
Question 2..can anyone recommend a decent tyre,(235,45,17,97w)are on car at moment. Do about 8-9k a year..dont mind payin a bit extra for a decent set, cheers

Buy the 4 , get two fitted tell the guy you'll come back to get the other two fitted when your others are to the legal limit. Take the two not being fitted and store them at home in case he goes bust in the mean time.

I like Bridgestone tyres , all weather A001's are a good choice for Ireland I think .

Depends on how much thread is left on the good 2. New tyres have much shorted stopping distances and clear water better, with the winter just kicking in the more thread you have the better, if your below 3mm new tyres are the way to go.

You may get a better deal on 4 than 2.
