    Hello there,

I was off sick for all of last year so paid no tax, started back in Jan this year and paid little tax for the first 2-3 wks back.

I know I'm not due any tax back from last year but I would have thought I'd pay less tax this year considering I paid non last year

Any help would be appreciated ;)

You're taxed on what you earn in the calender year.

You earned little/no money (Im assuming because you were off sick) so you paid no tax

You have started earning money again, so now you pay tax. You're tax credits don't carry forward to the next year.
