UK- WC Cubicles for Visitable Dwellings

You know the way in the Irish regs you have to provide the 1200*750mm clear area parallel to the side or perpendicular to the front of the guest WC's entirely within the cubicle or if the entrance level is <45m2 then the door can be left open. As per diagrams 15 & 16 of Part M.

In the UK Part M- all they seem to have for their guest WC is the requirement that a wheelchair can approach straight on or from oblique access. As per diagrams 31 & 32 of their Part M.

Assuming its a new build apartment and not for social/affordable housing would I be right in saying so that as long as the frontal access requirement is met with that it is complies. i.e. no sideways transfer area is required.

Or if not can anyone provide a link to alternative guidelines/regulations stating otherwise.

If anyone knows a UK forum this would be better suited on please let me know and I'll take the question there instead.

try some of the linkedin CIAT/small practice forums.

Depending on the project and its location there can be a whole lot more to it than just providing what's in Document M in terms of the wc requirements.
