(Mods please remove if not allowed)

Ok bit of a favour needed if anyone would be so generous to offer..please...

I'm in Galway with a small baby so I can't go up any time soon.

There is literally one record I need information from and I can more or less complete one side of the family tree.

It's a marriage cert from 1925. Found it on Familysearch.org indexes and I need the man's parents' names so I can go back. If anyone out there is planning on spending some time in the Nat Library anytime in the near future I would be so grateful if they could look up this microfilm for me and just give me this piece of info.

I'll buy a record off Rootsireland for you in return and send to you if required as I have an account with a few credits on it.

    Many thanks :)

NLI is probably not the correct location for your search... I assume you are thinking of investigating RC parish registers ?

The RC films in the NLI only cover up to about 1880, some up to 1900 or so. To follow up in church records you would need to know the parish or church - the FamilySearch index gives you just the registration district, which could cover a number of parishes. I think you need to start with a cert from the GRO. You have to pay for these (€4 for a research cert with references), and it costs just the same by post. A civil cert will only show father's details.
