Lads, I am in the mood to watch an American football movie tonight, preferably something that I haven't watched before, so whats the best?

Ones I can think of at the moment that I have seen:
    Any given sunday
    remember the titans
    the replacements
    varsity blues
    Brian's Song
    Friday Night Lights
The waterboy (not sure if you can count this)
    The one with Marky Mark.

    So any suggestions?

    Has anyone seen Undefeated?

It won the Oscar for best documentary last year. Can't find it anywhere online.

Undefeated is good but it's not hollywood good if you get what i mean! it is very real and very cringeworthy/cheesy at times.

    I enjoy the following:
    Remember the Titans
    Any given Sunday
    We are marshall
    Invincible
    Friday night lights
    The express

    North Dallas Forty

I thought Remember the Titans was one of the worst films I ever saw. Mawkish sentimental slushy pap, "I love you bro" garbage.

I wasn't a fan of any given Sunday, I wasn't into football at the time but the main problem with the movie is that it was just too messy. I watched the other day and enjoyed it. Also, watched another one a few months back where Cuba Gooding Jr is a running back, movie is about him and his agent trying to get him into the NFL from college. Can't remember the name of it but that one was good too.

Watched We Are Marshall last night. It was very good. Matthew McConaughey gives a very good performance. Really lightens up the movie with his role as head coach.

I won't go into much detail about the movie in case somebody else is going to watch it. I had no idea what it was about and I think that is the best way to have it.

Think the next one on my list to watch will be:
    The Blind Side.

Was talking to a buddy of mine who works for Amazon in the US and he was saying the Region 2 and Region 3, 4 dates are this month. The UK and Ireland being Nov 12th. The US release date is down as between December 2012 and February 2013. He said some have been saying 2013 for the Region 1 version. He did say though he wouldn't be surprised if it suddenly became available to US customers on Nov 12th also.

Seems daft that the US date is unknown and the rest of the world is this month.

    The U
    Straight Outta LA
    Roll Tide/War Eagle
    The Marinovich Project
    Pony Excess
    The Band that Wouldn't Die
Small Potatoes, Who Killed the USFL

Cheers Conor but I am looking for Hollywood feel good over the top drama.

Started watching the Blind Side seems very good. Had to stop for the Dundalk Waterford match though. :)

EDIT - Very good, enjoyable show! Good feelgood show with some tearjerker moments. Just watched the end of it and realised it was a true story. I had never heard of Michael Oher before.

A tip for downloading from Torrents is set the download directory to an external hard drive and then run malware and antivirus scan on your temp folders and the external device. I find if you use trusted torrent sites most of them check the files before allowing them to be uploaded. Any of the ones that make you sign up are a good place to start.

Jerry Maguire. I wouldn't count that as an American Football film, it's a crappy love story cheesefest with Tiny Tom Cruise and Lemon Face Renee Zelwegger and there just happens to be mention and footage of some NFL action in it. That's about it.

The Replacements is quite funny though! :D

Watched The Express there today. Another really solid movie and another one based on a true story. This time about the first black guy to ever win the Heisman trophy. These movies are much better when you don't know whats going to happen so I won't tell you guys any details just incase someone is going to watch it.

This, it all felt a bit ''Disney esque'' tbh and not very grounded in reality. Not to mention the tacked on love story.
