Have you heard of Saorview and the analogue switch off?

...assuming you are in the wrong forum and don't have UPC/Sky/etc.

Analogue signal switched off. Go to electrical goods store and ask man at counter for a saorview set up box.

sounds like you were getting analogue stations before Wed. so your aerials probably ok
you now have sound but no picture. sounds like you have a freeview tv not a saorview or freeviewHD tv. Solution = saorview set top box or new T.V.

Yes. There was TV licence adverts just before / after the analogue switchoff reminding people that the licence was still legally required ...

Your TV is not Saorview compatible. It does not have the right tuner to display the picture in Ireland.

You need to buy a saorview box.

Radio stations are on the older MPEG2 standard. Pictures are on the new MPEG4 standard, which is why RTE2 is in high definition and all the channels take as much room (and transmitter power) as ONE old station.

Do a quick check in the menu on the off chance there is an option in the menu to choose a different country / check the specs in the manual / on the web / ask here.

If you bought it in the last two years in the republic , then dig out the receipt / credit card statement and return it because it is not "fit for purpose"
