Just wondering whether there is a limit on the amount of hours one can work and still recieve partial One Parent Family Payment? I didn't believe there was from reading the operational guidelines and that you just couldn't earn over 425 a week. (I definitely don't, on average I earn 300 a week). However people keep telling me about their friends whom were cut off because they worked over 25 hours a week and I'm not sure whether to believe them or not? I keep thinking that they must be mistaken. The wage is approximately 12 an hour so working 25 hours would only equal about 300. I am on maternity leave at the moment but considering taking up an extra few hours at work when I return, but don't want to do so if it means I will lose this payment completely. Can anyone please clarify this for me? Thank you!

One parent family is a means tested payment. It doesnt matter how many hours you work its your earnings that are assessed.

as eastbono said its a means tested payment and the threshold is €425.What your friends have been telling you is BS.When it comes to social welfare someone always has a friend of a friend who got screwed over
