Just wondering has anybody any experience with these. Got a leaflet through the door recently advertising them. Installation is free and they claim to match ESB rates and only charge 37 per day standing charge. Starting to get a pain in my arse with electric Ireland texting or ringing to chase up a late payment on bills that never carry forward.

    Hello King Krib,

Would you like us to investigate your query with Electric Ireland? We can do so if you private message us your account number and your name/address in full as they appear on your account, as well as your date of birth or the contact telephone number on your account.

The payment terms for Electric Ireland bills are that they be paid in full two weeks from the bill's issue date. Reminder calls/texts result if these terms are not met, we do not carry overdue balances forward - however, we can come to an arrangement with the customer, such as setting up a payment plan. This eliminates the reminders subsequently. Pre-payments can be made on an Electric Ireland account via various means also, in the weeks prior to the bill - in order to reduce the eventual total by billing time.

Generally speaking, if a customer is in significant arrears, we may be able to install a pay-as-you-go meter for them, which is a facility for managing debt and usage rather than a standard payment means.

    Regards,
    Una
