Hi - would you recommend this drill for average/light home DIY needs? I rarely need one but had my old Blackspur nicked a couple of weeks ago.
    Thanks for any help

I'd give it a go at 24 euro

It would probably be ok as a screwdriver but there is no spare battery (as far as I can see) and it's only a 1.2ah battery, so it probably won't last too long if you are doing any drilling.

    Thanks for the advise

Shame you cant buy a spare/2nd battery for it.

Good little cordless none the less for 24 euro.

Bought a similar one (in ze ozer German supermarket) a good while ago ...that one is now a shed ornament.

The problem with battery powered drills and "rarely needing" it is that the two don't go together.

Drill worked fine for the first few applications, then the battery got successively weaker to the point where it now only holds a charge for a few minutes.

Battery powered tools don't like long periods of inactivity and irregular charging ...especially not cheap battery powered products.

For an "occasional" power tool always go corded

Back on thread , i bought a cordless drill and i find them very unreliable , i bought a electric one and find that better in every way . You just need a good extension lead tho

The only reason why this went off thread topic was and is because of you and your crazy carry on of accusing a person of being a racist.:mad:

Now,for all you know Redser7 could be wanting a cheap/reasonable cordless drill/screwgun for drilling/screwing together the likes of wooden raised veggie beds or pieces of timber in an outdoor location or for use in an area/location of the house/garden where a mains operated drill is not possible or practical.

PS-Not a very good/wize idea to call anyone here (especially a moderator) a racist either.

Well I missed all the argy bargy but you're spot on paddy. I will be using at the allotment and around the garden so it needs to be cordless. I understand the limitations of going cheap but think it will do me just fine. My Blackspur was cheap and had same size battery and was going fine after 6 years until some tosser decided to take it. They didn't even get the charger! Anyway I picked the Aldi one up this evening so fingers crossed. 3 year garauntee so if it's rubbish I should get cash back.

Must get a job on Psychics Live on TV3.:pac::rolleyes::D

All you missed was some idiot comming on here and with his 1st post accusing a moderator of being a racist.:mad:

Needless to say he and his posts didnt last too long here.:D

Anyway for 24 euro you cant go wrong,as like you say the 3 year garauntee will be peace of mind.:)

Excuse me but i havent just got one post . And it was only a joke, as in a father ted joke with the germans . I made a mistake in thinking it was posted in a afterhours thread but after i saw your comment i checked.

I deleted my posts because i realised i had offended you in good faith so dont be name calling me ( idiot)

You posted with your very 1st post on this particular thread making a serious accusation against a person for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

You posted with block capitals,so that everyone could see it too.

I dont find it one bit funny calling anyone a racist here, when that has absolutely nothing got to do with the thread.

You really need to cop on and engage your brain before you post.

PS-You are a long way from "afterhours" aswell.

Like i said i made a mistake, like i said i deleted the posts that i made' like i said it was a joke .for which i did everything in my power to put right.

Get over it and get a sense of humour while your at it, it was a thread on a aldi drill.

Yep the thread was about an Aldi drill.Such a shame you couldnt and didnt open your eyes and see that, and also engage your brain 1st,instead of jumping straight in with your 1st post on this thread accusing a person of being a racist. I dont see one word of an appoligy from you to the person who you accused of being a racist either.

    Ahh, give it a rest

If anything I'm offended about you being offended on my behalf. I'm a big boy now and can stand up for myself, should the need arise ...which it didn't ...no offence :D

    Now, back to drills

    Hi Redser,

Was this drill a green one with a 24v/1.2Ah battery?

If so and you still have the charger, would you consider selling the charger to me?

I seem to have lost my charger:mad:
